The founders of Skylight Collective hired me to envision their Portland South Waterfront design studio. Capturing a spirit of optimism and light, the space was designed to be inviting, comfortable, and inspiring. A seating area including a fireplace and record player was created adjacent to sliding doors that opened out onto a patio. Two conference rooms were designed: one, a cozy library for one-on-one meetings and concentrated thinking, and the second more formal for client meetings. Both were designed with translucent colorful dichroic film walls. As space was at a premium, we maximized functionality by integrating storage into the conference room structure with overhead compartments as well as a partition wall facing the kitchen area. The back wall featured fold-down tables to provide more workspace during busy seasons.

PLAY is EA’s premier event for gaming fans, influencers and business insiders, taking place on the better part of a city block in Hollywood. We provided in-depth experience and event design, supporting our client through the 8-month process, and working in tandem with several production company partners.
The outdoor parking lot of the Hollywood Palladium provided the field for the fan-fest zone, featuring over 14 game titles offering well over 300 playable stations, in addition to a 40’ stage for live entertainment.
A Creator Cave was designed inside the building to house the press event with seating for over 1400 as well as over a hundred playable stations for influencers, editing stations, live broadcast, and a business lounge.
1: For Xbox’s XO18 Mexico City key art and branding system, we developed 3-Dimensional Mayan calendar artwork to accompany the limited edition controller designed specifically for the event. This work was done at Skylight Collective. Creative Director: David Cipriano, Designer: Tara Ketner
2: For Xbox Kinect's special pre-release product edition for gaming influencers, brand visual elements of circles are combined in dynamic composition to connote movement.
With legalization of the cannabis industry in many states came opportunities for brands to establish themselves in open commercial retail environments. Cura came to us with an established product architecture, color-coded to communicate position of the experience. We helped guide the strategic conversation on retail by developing a scalable system to accommodate various potential situations. As laws were still in development, we anticipated a variety of conditions, from completely open shopping, to gated and display only situations. We also looked at the system from owned flagship stores to small presence within other, often visually chaotic retail stores.
